simmons skis on the original rev was a game changer.
never owned an XP
They were not good on the XM though
I stick with stock now.
Maybe the Gen 3 skis would be good for todays sled. if i was flush with cash i would likely try them but I am far from being flush with cash these days.

In 2008 I put Simmons skis on a XP. They made the sled feel like it had a wider stance in hard pack because of the outside runners, Once I made up new SS plates to reposition the skis inward of the saddles they were awesome. Probably the first XP to have a narrowed ski stance, as back then it wasn't "the thing" to do. I still have high respect for these skis on the right machine.

Had a set on my RT and took them off after the 1st ride. Good on the trail but gripped so much they were hard to countersteer and the straight profile dug in the snow hard trying to reverse.

Had a set on my M8 Turbo. Extremely hard to steer but on the Wedge they work like a dream.
Forsure, just a bit more effort to get on edge on setup snow because the carbide is on the outside of the ski.
I havent run a set since 2010 mind you,(they were my go to ski for years, i ran them from 2000-2010) but id give em another chance forsure. Especially on an new 850, they are pretty tippy to begin with.
