Yesterday the guy ahead of me at the national park gates gets through for free because he’s a new citizen and apparently they get a free year.

I had to pay to drive through through the Saskatchewan crossing and I have been Canadian my whole life.
If one is just passing through Jasper and/or Banff, you don’t have to pay. Or at least that was the way it was a few years back.
What’s different about the Saskatchewan Crossing gate?

It's listed as one of the top drives in the world. MAybe that's why. The fed knows it's a gold mine

What's odd is I have been using an expired park pass all last winter, summer, and drove the icefield parkway last month without paying.

Every car on highway 93 needs a pass even if passing through with your eyes closed so you do look at anything.

$10ish if you’re alone. $21 for 2 people or more. Could get the passengers to hide and save $10🤷

If a person goes through Banff in the drive through lane, up to Lake Louise, then up to Jasper, and onto McBride there isn’t a charge or at least there didn’t used to be. I realize that if you stop for other than food and petro, you are supposed to have paid.

Fu#k Banff and all that park crap in between. I hope it all burns to the ground. why are the people pi$$ed off. We because we are taken advantage of by our government. Parks are to stay untouched and we should have the right to visit because we are citizens. Not pay a fee to drive by or sit at some crappy picnic table.
what the hell happened to this great country. Why do others get a free ride. That’s racist and uncalled for!
when I travel I'm ashamed to say I’m from Canada.

Unless you just got your papers you gotta pay to pass through on that road

It took the dip shat 20 min to find his papers and I was trapped behind him. I ask the attendant WTF was he doing? That’s how I found out about it.

Maybe thats why they go there by the million. I go Nordegg, Jasper to Kamloops often. 50 new Canadians pulled over every few miles in the park...
