Nice truck....... But sorry, i was going to guess a "ford"......... Easiest vehicle to steal, unfortunately!!!

Real easy to make it almost impossible to steal that truck. I had a '94.5 powerstroke just like it and "modified" it before the first time I went to Revy. Thieves tried twice in the years I had it and never got it to start. If you get it back PM me and I'll let you know how.

PM'd as I am in the market for a new truck and have been looking at some Ford Super Duty's.

Curious to see if its the same thing I was planning to do...

I know how to disable it and used to do so when it was parked in hotel lots with sleds aboard. I got lazy and naively thought it wasn't much of a target by itself.

Not a peep from anyone as to it's wherabouts. :(

I don't know anything about that story. Did you see something to indicate it was an older F350?

An F250/350 Super Duty getting stolen is just an hourly occurance I think in Alberta.

Update!

Truck recovered! Some story:

Two weeks after my truck was stolen we are at the Petro Can again at 5:30AM on a Sat filling our sleds before heading west. Out of the corner of my eye I see a truck turning around before it has even come into the lot. It's dark out but I can tell it's a truck of my style but really dirty, no deck and the box is full of something. WTF! Am I nuts? Could it be my truck??? Why would a guy come into the Petro and turn around short? Watch it slowly drive away up the service road and head towards Calgary. We are in the midst of filling and can't just take off. I stew on this for days.

Last week I'm driving down Deerfoot, southbound, just before Glenmore in the right lane. Truck passes me in the fast lane. Look over. My truck!!! The same extremely dirty truck I saw before. Not sure how he was driving to this point but I move to the middle lane to follow and he's hammering on it through traffic. Obviously he has found the dial for my chip and has it on high 'cause the black smoke is flying. Why is he driving like this? He can't possibly have recognized me in my company wheels? I can't get right on him, there are always one or two vehicles between. I'm trying to be cool about it too and not be obvious. He is far left, far right, shoulder. As we approach Anderson he is far left lane, I lose sight because of semi. I move left. WTF? Where did he go? Look right he is cutting hard across everyone, gone down Anderson. I can't do it. I double back, he's gone. I hardly sleep for two days.

Hear from a friend, who hadn't heard about the theft, that a few weeks ago he pulled up beside my truck on north Deerfoot to give me a wave. That's not James he thinks. WTF?

Last night, 1AM. Rimbey RCMP phone. We have a scum bag in custody can you describe your truck? No problem. Some things don't match but VIN is mine. Texts me some pictures. My truck! The same dirty truck. He was on the side of the road, under the hood, trying to prime the fuel system after running out (I think). Plate doesn't belong to truck, he runs for it, they get him. Turns out they had been in high speed chases with him on highway #2 a few times but he always got away. (Hopped up Powerstroke ). Also, he is already out on bail.

I drive up and check it out today. Things he did: Obviously the deck is gone. Took off my nearly new wheels and studded winter tires and put on 25% left grippers on steel wheels. Removed the nerf bars. Removed the Fx4 decals. Replaced the window he broke. Put a slip tank in (wooden box liner is soaked in diesel now). Tool box full of tools. Tools that I had in truck are gone. Dixie plate and driving lights added to the front. Three antenas on the roof but no radios that I could see.

Cab is full of 'stuff' including safety vest, strobe light and about 25 equipment keys hanging from ashtray. Personal photos on viser and some chicks prescription drugs in glovebox.

I settled with the insurance company yesterday.

Before (Summer wheels and tires in photo):

Not to close the door after the horse is gone but might I suggest a club======for the steering wheel!!!!. I have an older GMC 05 that is my quad, sled and Trailer hauler and I wold not be a happy camper if it got pinched. I club it every time, might no look pretty but it does the job. Glad you got your baby back!

Oh, a lot of thoughts have gone through my mind. Including keeping a molotov cocktail handy :PDT_gun:

Just to be clear, as of yesterday, it belongs to the insurance company now but they said I get final bid when it is sold. I'm ok with that.

I so bad wanted to fix it there and start it to see if it was hurt. With the chip on the highest setting the pyro and boost gauges would go off scale when you punched it. If he was abusing it a lot it may be damaged.

With any luck you'll get her back. To bad our justice system sucks and the douch will get nothing. Better yet to bad you didn't catch him first and give out some Alberta backwoods justice cause that's what these failures need.

almost any security device is easily overcome by the pros. club can be frozen and hit with a hammer, same as locks etc, and a battery operated grinder. i thought i had a secure padlock, hit it with a hammer, it popped open. couldn't believe it.
