Anyone heard of any missing people/avalanche incidents in Elkford the past few days?

Does anyone else know that they went out to search ?? Maybe no one knows they are missing, therefor no one would know to start looking.

Thats what Im wondering, though given the fact its now Wednesday I can't imagine they'd still be alive of nobody found them yet.@Tyler: That is probably what I'm going to do.

EDIT:Up till now I wasn't sure if the disappearance had any relevance to this search, and I didn't want to make a tree out of a stick, but now its getting to the point where I probably should report something. That's why I asked around here first, to see if there was any plausible reason or anything reported that could be what I am looking for. I've just been really worried and in the dark.

If you are concerned ,PHONE the RCMP .It does not matter where you live,HOWEVER it might matter to the police if you can give them some info and report them missing if that is the case.........IF they are are overdo and you have not reported it to anyone,yet search on here for info i find this quite bizzare.........

I was just asked (with a PM) if I had heard anything yet. Once again he was given the RCMP number and I told him to phone them please.

Well I guess I'll just find out tomorrow if its a network issue or something is really gone wrong. I doubt it's the cold shoulder with how close we are. If we weren't so close I wouldn't think two thoughts of this random 4 day disappearance, I was just concerned cause she was going after someone else in a avalanche.

If this is a serious and valid concern by HidoriTsunadre, then HidoriTsunadre you need to get on the phone and speak with the RCMP and give them the names of the individuals, explain the situation clearly and have someone visit their residence. It makes no sense to me why someone would wait 48 or even 36 hours to do anything after raising a concern of avalanche entrapment on a forum. Its something that should be looked into immediately. Elkford is a very small community and typically something like this wouldn't take long to resolve.


If this is not a valid story then really someone needs to find something better to do with their spare time. The last thing we need is falsified claims that there was a possible avalanche and now other search members are missing as they have not been able to be reached.

Your absolutely right, I just hope I wasn't too late. I'll call em now. Truth me told I hesitated because I was unsure if that's what happened and I didn't want to freak out if it was nothing, but now it's getting serious so I should make the call. Nobody could blame me.

Have you tried calling the hotel she was staying at???? They might be able to give you some insight on all of this!!

Not even staying at a hotel as far I'm concerned.

EDIT: I called, funniest thing her name isn't even in the directory. They said nothing has been reported and that they may look into it but that I should really just keep trying to contact her. Guess I just have to wait and see if she turns up, I feel a lot better knowing that it didn't matter that I waited too long.

Dunno, not a sledder, my girlfriend just is, and honestly I warned her all the time about doing it since she makes it sound so dangerous. This time it might actually have been. =P

its not dangerous, just risky....and not even that if you have the propper gear, ride with others with the propper gear, and who know the dangers and the proper measures and planning to make sure your not getting yourself into danger.

and if she was going to look for someone who had been in a slide then she probably knew the dangers, and had the gear to properly deal with the situation
