Wonder how big of a job it will be?
Anyone ever replace their furnace chimney? (I think that's what I'm looking at).
I'll look more into it come the weekend. Hoping I don't have to rip a wall open, or replace the entire run.

She looks pretty rotten inside

Might be better off to replace the furnace with a high efficiency unit that vents through PVC out the wall.

Thats funny, my HVAC buddy in GP says if you don't want to replace your furnace every 10-15 years stay as far as you can from super high efficient furnaces due to the how bad they corrode from the acidic flue gasses.

Replace my infloor system of 20+ years with near zero problems with the new super wize bang high efficiency exit wall PVC blah blah. The BS energy savings was not noticable, you would have to pin & paper to see the difference. The major rub was the "FAILURE" of the "EXCHANGER" less than 3 years. Warranty is just like all manufacturers, covered other than labour & diagnostic's........I think it was around 3K to replace. Improve the building & forget the whizz bang junk.

With high efficiency furnance your exhuast exits the side of the house. And that is dumb..

Unless you want water vapor puking out the side of your house all winter, id just fix the one you have....
