The words of and have are not interchangeable. Surprised that the Teacher didn't point that out.
I was going to comment on that yesterday but got tied up. Most of the time it is the word have that should be used. Should have, would have, and could have are proper grammar and not should of, would of, nor could of.

But then again, the English language is a bit difficult. It is correct to use of in this manner; He should, of his own will, do the right thing. He should, of his own will, have done the right thing.
