January snow conditions

Went into the Reshaw with 3 others today..had a great time.. First time Ive been in there in over 20 yrs..The last time I was in there was on a 1973 Elan and my Brother had an early 80's Tundra... Kinda sad really considering I live in McBride...lol Pretty sure Ill be going back in more often from now on..lol

Rode Friday and Sat. at Renshaw. Thinking we rode in 1.5 feet of fresh both days. Lots of riders both days. Trail was groomed all weekend.

We left Sunday morning and it was snowing pretty good in town, so there must of been a good dump on top.

There is a few places for accomadations in town......Sandman, Bell Mountian Motel, North Country Lodge, Old Hotel(yikes) but i prefer the bed and breakfast now such as Scarecrow (just west of town) or Mountian Haven (right in town). There's also a few along the way coming into town which are a ways away Terracana or Mountian View Cabins.

Got some buddies coming up tommorrow AM and staying till the weekend will have to bug them to take pics so i can post them up.

Beaver Creek Cabins, Cougars Den Cabins. Both good spots. You can ride Lucille Mountain right from Cougars Den, which is nice.

Talked to Hotrod today, both Renshaw and Lucielle groomed last night (Monday) with Belle being done tonight. Another foot of new snow at both hills so i presume Belle will be the same. Got to be some good snow in all the Honey Holes! Higgins.

j.c., pray for snow in Blue. We rode there today and all the untouched is really settled. Hero snow conditions. They really need snow bad.

Yea i'm praying, i've been watching their forum and there hasn't been too many updates recently! Can't even get a grooming report.

Three different weather forecasts on the websites for McBride area. None of them are ever really correct. My home thermometer says that it's currently -5 and it's very accurate. Not much of a breeze this morning and a very light snow falling up top. My guests left Thursday after riding for three days. They found about 18" of powder in most places in Lucille and Renshaw, and reported that the groomed trails were really good. All in all, they left happy and that's what counts. They are supposed to be emailing me some of their pictures and I will post them as soon as I get them.

I couldn't have asked for better conditions for the 2 new guys I brought up. Rode renshaw and everywhere had a good 4-6" in the open areas, and the trees were around 1.5-2 feet. Off to lucielle today.
