India is the bizzarest, craziest, most f up place I have ever been to. I kept going back for a few years in my early 20s. I spent most of my time up in the mountains of NW and the NE. The people were pretty amazing up there. Down in the plains it was almost too chaotic, too many people. Riding...
How do you know "the US can see that you have been pardoned in canada but cant see what it was for," ,"all they see is a file that they cant read"
My ex was told by pardons canada that a pardon seals your criminal convictions and the only way anyone can see it is if they apply to the governor...
Ya, pisses me off when fockers, local or not, disrespect closures. It makes it very difficult for us to stand up to the powers that be that are trying to shut us out the mountains.
The low seat height of the bravos and older tundras is an issue if you have to log a bunch of time bouncing down a road. The new rev platform tundra is way taller and has reverse. The tundra had taller legs so was a little quicker. The older tundra LT 440 was a good mix. I don`t know if they...
Sunday January 13, 2013 "Any rapid change in the mechanical or thermal energy state of the snowpack is a precursor to avalanching. And I emphasize rapid."
-Ed LaChapelle
It's important to know how we got to this point, here's a brief recap:
December brought...
-Getting wet, injured, lost, etc could easily lead to hypothermia (death)
-the ever so unpredictable swamp donkey, had one friend get his sled trampled on the trail
I've never done any grooming but I do understand snow and it's properties. Cold air will kind of dry out the snow (faceting due to a large temp gradient, ground temp to air temp). Turning the snow to a sugary consistency. The bonds between these christals become very week. Warmer air temps will...
Windfuct,
You can actually read in it the prevailing winds which gives you an idea where the blown snow is loading or loaded into a slab.
The Inuit navigate all over the land and sea ice with little to no visibility by knowing their prevailing winds and reading the sastrugi.
There are no Euro style hills in North America with lifts taking you up onto icefields surrounded by big peaks and such. There really is a big difference. It`s like riding a 800cc mountain sled instead of a short track bravo. I am not saying this proposal makes sense but i would love to see a...
Not quite, If is, it will usually be less. Depends on the direction of the storm and the intensity. Usually if its puking on the pass, it is snowing lighter on the east side of the tunnels. Usually colder and drier pow though.
As far as the southern purcell heard is concerned, their #s have declined over the past century (before sleds) and their decline has leveled out since the 90's. They have stayed at less than 20 animals since then.
Its funny how their #s have stopped declining since sleds started sharring...
Yes they can't pay there bills. It was in the news a few weeks ago. They are scrambling to find more money so the money lenders don't flog their properties.
