I'm looking at buying a used XM 800 163. I was wondering if there were any issues with the 2013's or 2014's ? Any issues I should be aware of? Thanks

I have a '13.
Only a couple of issues, Dess key post was intermittent, It had a muffler sensor code go off with an MBRP exhaust, and the coolant leaked at the hose clamps.

all covered under warranty and updates. Great sled for me.

Only difference is the handlebar warmers are better on the 14 and my 2014 was a bit snappier than my 2013 as they changed some fuel mapping and clutching but the 2 sleds are basically identical otherwise and both have proven to be great machines

The '15 154's. I have ridden seem to have some awesome midrange pull compared to my 14'. My 14 walked all over my friends 13 xm. Same Friend quizzed the service manage at the local dealer last month and allegedly BRP refined the porting on the 15's to make the throttle response better. All here say really but his 15 is twice the sled his 13 was.

Any year is good. Depends how much you want to spend. Guys are finding leftover 2015 Sp's for 11,000+tax. If your not picky about having an X with 3 years warranty.

I know the 2014 XM's had bulletin out for the rear axle bolts but cannot speak for the 2013's or 15's. My buddy has a 2013 X model and this past weekend he started having issues with his sled, check engine light was coming on and it wasn't running right but that could just be a sensor.

I was finally able to get my 14 XM out in the mountains this weekend and have to say that sled is the funnest sled I have ever ridden and it's only a 146.

my 2014 X 163" is amazing, I have never owned a stock sled before but I will leave this one alone, I have out climbed every stock competitive brand every time.

13s were catching fire and brp came out with a terrible bandaid fix. I put the 14 oil tank on my 13. Otherwise a solid sled.

Ya they were catching fire! The XM's were selling like hot cakes. Couldn't keep them on the dealership floor!

2013's are known to have stator issues

I'd look at a 2014+ XM

Also 13's have repeat hand warmers inoperable

Think it has to do with stator and not kicking them in till the 2000 ish rpm

Think they fry from being cycling on and off all the time
