We play in a wicked learning environment. Meaning, the patterns are not often obvious, feedback is delayed or nonexistent, and the rules of the game can be unclear or incomplete. This wicked environment may even reinforce bad behaviours or habits.

We can adapt to this environment, even thrive in it, by implementing and following a planned process.

We invite you to come and learn some of the tools and processes that can help tame this wicked beast so we all can continue to sail info the future on these beautiful frozen seas.

Please check the calendar at Frozenpirate.com for available options and contact us anytime to arrange something that works for you and your small group.

The way we schedule our classes, it is not even a weekend really, you "lose" one day of freeriding on the mountain. Think of this as a great excuse for you better half to "let" you make one more trip to the mountains this year.

Already have your AST1 and 2? Think of a mentorship day or utilize our small team of professional guides to get the most out of your time in the mountains.

Ride safe and see you all on the hillz very soon!

That sounds like a great idea, I like the evening class that marshall does for BRP but a refresher in the field IMO is needed. I will be seriously considering this.

If you have done an AST 1 and do not feel ready for the 2, you can update your skills with a refresher field day.

Same rate as a guided day, up to four people, and we can work on what ever skills you want throughout the day and crush some pow while we are at it. We operate under a full commercial tenure so are not bound by the stipulations given to general ast providers who do not hold tenure.

Its rad, we can custom train any way you want!

I would like to do the AST 2 course. But I don’t have a group of 4 to book a session.

Is any body else interested in joining up to get a group of 4, then pick a weekend and book it with Curtis?

Ive been trying to take the AST2 course for the past 2 seasons, but between no having other people to take it with and my work schedule it hasn't worked out. If we can find 2 more people and a time when I am around I am interested.

Curtis do you have a List of possible openings for a group to do the AST 2?

At this time we have one needing other folks on Feb 11th weekend but can easily schedule others if you get a group of 5. We try to do the Ast2s mid season and onward as we would like good snowpack to ride on and travel some major terrain if the conditions allow.

Mentorship days are by far the most useful avy training days I've had. You can really hone in on specific skills and scenarios around terrain navigation. I highly recommend them to anyone considering it.

I think you are mistaken.... busy summer in Valemount and our village welcomed people as long as they respected normal protocols and other peoples space etc.

This type of post is what is causing so many misconceptions. Don't put everyone in the same basket.
