Hit Golden for 13/14. 10 hour run on Friday, the highway south of Dead Rear was crazy. Crashes, traffic stopped 1/2 hr. east of Golden for about hour and half. Traffic lined up for miles.
Went to QC on Sat. About -8 at the cabin. Snowing with some sun. Snow was a lot bitter than expected. Snowing last week made for pretty good conditions.
Sunday most riders scrammed it was -25 in Golden. Was going to go to Gorman but heard quite a few slides on Sat. made for Sh%$ty conditions.
Went back to QC -16 at the cabin and still found some pow. Gotta watch for the rocks..
No wrecks, No breaks and made er home in 5-1/2 Hrs. Great first trip out.:p

We were in golden on the weekend and hit silent pass on saturday, trail was good, we road out at dark and had groomed trail all the way from the bridge. Snow uptop was very good with only a few landmines. we had alot of fun, light snow with good visibility. Was about -15 uptop and -20 at the trucks on the way out. There were probably 30 vehicles at the unload point.

Need to mention. Two of the Parks Canada guys where out this weekend. Skiiing and posting out of bounds signs. Lots of tracks on the inside of the signs. Extremely tempting....Could be a $2000.00 ride???

Regarding above post....

Are you talking about Quartz?

I wasn't aware of any closures in Silent Pass... I know of one closed spot in Quartz that isn't posted at all... great area too.

Golden Rim is good. good eats with good vis on the parking lot and hot tub w/ pool & slide.

You mean the “Shiny (sp??) Hole” hahaha

I still haven’t thought of it but somehow there has to be a great joke about the “Golden Rim” How is that NOT a punch line to an awesome joke…..
