I have a 07 Switchback that ate a belt yesterday, when I was changing it I noticed that the secondary clutch set moves laterally on its shaft about a quarter of an inch, is that normal? I would assume that the clutch would follow the belt but that just seems odd. I haven't taken it apart yet, but we'limped home about 40 kms on a spun belt by the time we got to the truck it was sounding like a old tractor. I am hoping that I haven't done more damage. I suspect this is the second belt as the "new" one was anything but. it was worse thaen the one I replace hence why we limped home.

play is normal only BRP does a fixed secondary and, well, that didnt work out to good for them!!! have to have some play in there so it can find its good spot. Put something straight against your sheaves and see if your clutches are true. Pm me if ya need more help.

I was comparing to a couple of summits and theirs were fixed, that is where the discussion ensued.
