Planning to groom Ministik within a week (by mid Jan/07) if everything works out (please don't kill us if it doesn't).

I will make another post when it's done.

Also trying to pressure the county into clearing the #2 lot this year (they say it costs them money and it's not their park, but it's a public park!!). We will work on it. Note if you park on the road in strathcona county (north lot, #33) they will ticket you pronto. See for a diagram if you like.

Hang in there (and don't ride their till it's done, I hear it's a bear)

Well you are about 3 weeks to late to start but after a few more times the mogules may start to dissapear. Like I have said before to Brian SOONER RATHER THAN LATER. Start from the base up dont wait to long or it will be VERY hard to remove all the mogules. Break out the money and GET ER DONE.

It's been too warm. We have had nothing but melt since about dec 15, other than the last week of bitter cold. My understanding is it won't set up when it's warm and your just wasting fuel.

Better to wait BUT do it when you can. If warm as long as it gets cold at night below freezing. Dont groom at the day use the cold nights and GET ER DONE. You have to start at the start of the season when snow first comes. As the BASE builds up with a solid packed base to the ground the mogules wont build up as deep. Now The groomer will have to shave down ALL the bump till smooth before it will hold its flat profile. If you start from the early snow and keep on it you will find that your trail will stand up to many riders before it looses its shape. Invest in groomiong early will pay off inn the long run. When your club gets it groomer try doing it early and put the time into building it up from the groung up. It explains it pretty good in the ASA grooming manual. Cant wait to see the difference.

Ministik Was Groomed

HI All
First a "Special Thanks" to Albert Beck of Fort Saskatchewan Snow Angles for doing such an excellent job grooming the Ministik Trails.:) :) :)

Second - if you get the chance to ride along in a groomer - go for it. You would be surprised and amazed at the amount of concentration and tasks that are performed when operating a groomer. From managing the front blade to move surplus snow into upcoming holes, steering through the tight trees, all while watching out the back window to make sure the drag blades are cutting at the right depth and the drag is full of rolling snow... WOW you need 4 eyes and 6 hands. So next time you meet a groomer man say THANKS....:) :) :) (All most all are unpaid volunteers donating their time for your riding pleasure.

Third - Ministik is now groomed and in great shape - Thanks for the ride along Albert, will do it any time.

P.S. Do not forget Tri-County Snowmobile Clubs Family Ride at Ministik on Sunday January 21 at the west parking lot #2 at TWP 504A and RR215 at 9:30am. Enjoy:)
