Im thinking of doing the course coming up. Is it a good one or should someone try and do one out in the field kind of setting instead? I dont climb mountains much anymore but you cant be too safe and its been awhile.

I did my AST1 with Zacstracs.
In my opinion even if you mountain ride once a year. It's worth it.

It is not a course, it is a refresher. It’s good information so I would attend if you can but it is not a replacement for a course. Talk to the frozen pirates while you are there and book a real course on the mountain. Ast1

I've not done one of these evenings yet but I may try this year. But as everyone else has said a one evening 'seminar' is by no means a replacement for a 2 day course

I got tickets for the wife and I. We went last year, she really enjoyed it. It’s a good chat to get your mind going for the season.
