I always carry extra fuel, but the diesel in my jerry cans is about 7 months old. Can I still use it in my truck?

for sure it should be fine, but if your worried at all just wait until your truck is near empty and mix a gallon or two every fill, this way it will blend.

I'd think it would be fine in a sealed jerry can. Gas goes "bad" in a vehicle tank or carb becuase they are vented. Because they are vented the light components evaporate. This evaporation cannot happen in a sealed container.

Some guys are pouring 2stroke oil into thier diesels so I would think 7month old diesel would be no problem. Also, if it's winter diesel it would have had more light ends to begin with.

giver 'er!

No big deal at all, diesel is good for a very long time. Even if your a bit concerned just add it to a pretty much full tank.

It takes a long time for diesel to go bad. I have never seen it happen yet, unless contaminated with water from condensation.

but what time of year did you fill it the api rating varies quite a bit between summer and winter,i have seen several drivability concerns caused by
people filling their tanks with winter fuel in the summer ei stalling, rough running and gelling summer fuel in winter!!so if your going to use it use a bit at a time
