How durable is 3M paint protection?

I posted this here because I am thinking of getting some airbrushed panels for my Rhino. I like to trail ride though, so they will take a beating. I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried the paint protection film like that used on the front of autos on their ATV/UTV? I know 3M makes a kit for the Rhino, but I am wondering how well it works. I have never outright gouged any of my panels, but they have several smaller scuffs and scratches that I think the film would have saved. I was quoted $300 to cover all four panels completely by a friend. If I had to pay that once a year for a unique look I'm OK with that. Thanks for any feedback.

the 3M stuff works good, but on automotive paint. not sure if the adhesive would peel off your airbrush work when you go to change it out or not.
