Did you have any green heads in it from late rains?
Yeah but agronomist said knock it down asap. Opened it up yesterday and today you could physically see how much of it fell overnight as we had some storms in the area with wind. FML

Looks like my garden, hoppers at it all. They are brutal around here. Pasture all dried up too, good hay crop at least from the wet cool spring.

Finished up some irrigation wheat. I think that heat really took a lot out of the yield.

Yeah be interesting to see what we get for canola yields. The pods are starting to look weird from all the heat. I think the green kernels are going to shrink personally

True. Lots of flowers got cooked and didn't make pods as well. A guy has canola 3 miles north of me and he has beaver huts and mine doesn't even look like you'd see much of a swath.

I’m hoping ours will run 40 which would be good for having no rain for over a month now. Lentils are done and they averaged 35 and were pretty clean from what I’ve seen around. There is some kochia messes that boggle the mind. Not sure what some guys are gonna do with it

Yeah we had about 8” rain this year compared to 2.5” last year. Made quite the difference. Didn’t grow lentils last year but our canola ran 2bu/acre

I had a roadtrip this weekend in SK. On the highway near town of Kyle SK, there are an insane amount of large black insects literring the highway. I'd say like 40 per square foot, for like 80 km of road. Lots of them are moving, I assume lots are dead from being run over by traffic.
Anyone know what insect that is? I don't know what crops are nearby. They all kept to the ground, I wasn't getting any on the windshield or seeing any airborne.

Crickets? I've seen more crickets this year than ever before. When I lift my header up in the morning there are thousands under it
