Engine rebuild question

I have an 09 m8 that I will be assembiling the engine on. The manual calls for dry threads on the cylinder bolts to block and torque. When I removed the bolts it looks like there is green loctite on the threads or something. The question is do you guys put something on these threads or follow the manual. Thanks for any info.

don't use loctite not there anyways, I like to asemble all bolts&nuts to snug 3-5 lbs torque then go right to the torque you want in one motion , I like oil on contact surfaces ie threads&bolt heads ,nuts
