Hey all,

i recently rebuilt my Polaris 440 F/C engine including splitting the crank case. Is there a method to pressure test the engine after I have it out back together so I can check the gaskets and seals and make sure they don't leak?

Yes.

shot glasses work great for where the carbs bolt onto.
you will need some steal plate to cover up the exhaust ports, sandwich cork gasket in between the two for a seal
spark plug in one hole
in the other you will have a sparkplug end/nipple setup. Have a hose hooked up with a hand pressure pump. You can get these at princess auto for about $50.
bump it up to 7-10lbs. If it holds solid for 5mins your good to go!

If it pressure drops use a soapy water in gasket areas to see the bubbles/leaks.
