the R shortblock is about 200-300 more than tha HO shortblock

I got mine from Bow Ridge Sports in Cochrane. I called around, most dealers including Martin were the same price, Bow Cycle came in a couple hundred bucks higher. Dees Marine in the states was the lowest, but the shipping would make the price about the same after sending the core to them.

You shouldn't need much for gaskets. Mine came with the head gaskets and i bought the water pump gasket as i ripped it otherwise would have re-used it. Oh and the exhaust gaskets.
