What are you guys using to shine and polish checker plate trim these days? Easier the better.

Probably go back to mothers. I had a powerball years ago. Maybe time for another.

If you can find it, I think places like kenworth sell it it's called wicked metal polish works really good. Or better yet get a hold of Boydo on here and get his F1 polish it really good! Or if you just plan on going to Canadian tire instead of mothers get the stuff with British crests on it it works way better!

I used a product called Flitz. I picked it up at Crackmasters and it comes with a powerball. My sled deck had never been polished and was in rough shape and this worked great.

Last year someone here recommended Trailer Brightener from Greggs Distributing. It's just over $100 a jug so I had a hard time justifying buying a jug. This year I pulled the trigger and glad I did. A little goes a long way so I figure the jug is a lifetime investment. It works amazingly well at removing oxidation and made polishing a breeze.

As for polish, best I have tried came from an autobody supply shop, something called Nexus (or similar).

TRAILER BRIGHTENER™
Ordinary detergents and solvents are ineffective on tough metal-cleaning jobs.
FPPF Trailer Brightener’s formula has a powerful acid formula to chemically
clean oxidation from aluminum and stainless steel, and to remove light corrosion.
Trailer Brightener’s combination of detergents and solvents attack stubborn
cleaning problems like dirt, grime, and road film.
Features:
•Removes aluminum and steel oxides to significantly brighten metal
•Can be used with pressure washers and other automatic washers
•Superior sheeting action
•Superior cleaning action
•Biodegradable

I got that stuff and was going to recommend it but didn't know what it would do to the painted stuff

I was talking to my boss thins morning and he had a good point about the powerball and I think he might be right about it. He said the checker plate will chew up the ball because the edges are sharp.
