Ended up buying the Ecoboost. I was hesitant, but couldn't resist the low end torque. It just flat out has jam. The 5.0 was good too, but I felt it would have huffed and puffed under a load like my last 5.3 GM. Sure it sounds a bit like a sewing machine, but it pulls my 6000# trailer pretty well, just chugs along at 2000rpm or less.

Best I've seen on the highway is 12.4l/100km, no trailer.

Congrats on the new rig

I myself ended up going with a 13 f150 fx4 screw lwb. It doesn't have the eco jam but the roush exhaust and intake make up for that ;)

Best I've been able to do so far. This was setting the cruise at 95 km/h. Road is a little up and down, no major downhills or uphills, but not flat.

I'd love to know how Ford got 9.0L per 100k!
