Definitely a off winter.
Boulder Cabin is showing 5ft, what’s it normally at for this time of year?

Looking back through last season's thread on December 11 it was over 6ft, and that was after the rain the week prior. Then on Jan 8th, there was only ~6 steps left to to Boulder cabin, so probably ~9-10ft on the stick.

IMO we are 2 big storm cycles away from somewhat normal. With the price of these machines and parts in general, its cautious travel for me at the moment. I can't image many tracks lasting long for the pin and wiggle club. Seen many rock impacts the past few days so I'd image some bent parts and sore ribs. Take it easy, shes a long season so enjoy it but ride smart so you can ride another day.
Take it for what its worth.
Safe sledding and Happy New Year

If you look up snow records for the past 50 years, it is common to have a below average snow year following above average snow year(s). 21/22 was a very high snow year.

Turtle was good today. A lot of fresh tracks. Pockets were headlight deep, on average bumper deep. Lots of exposed rocks in some areas, tread smartly

I dont care what people want to do, but it is sort of pointless to climb that as it just cliffs out on the back side.

Climbing through the trees on the left side of the picture is pretty fun though.

yeah a guy could make a case that it’s not the best place to climb but to say all highmarking is bad and irresponsible is just stupid. Do they not know that people have died from hitting trees or even died from slides in the trees. These are people that are supposed ambassadors in the sport yet one was caught in a closed area last year. How’s that good for the sport?

yeah it’s kind of like celebrities telling us how to live our lives. I’m not interested in their opinion. Just dribble the ball or entertain me. That’s the only thing that your good at. Lol

with the ergonomics and power of the new sleds, ie. flip over potential and proliferation of extreme freestyle in the backcountry I’m betting that sever orthopaedic injury’s will soon replace avalanches as the greatest threat to riders.
