My buddy has an 11 etec and is getting horrible mileage. It has 770 km on it so it should be well past its break in mode? Yesterday we went riding west of whitecourt. Both of us fueled right up took off from town. We got about 25-30 miles from town and his sled had already used 6/10 bars on the fuel guage and my fuel guage had barely left full maybe 3/4 (2011 m800 ho). So we played around on some leases for a bit maybe another 10-15 miles and his gas light came on and I still had more than a half a tank. So we headed back into town and as soon as we got to the casino outside of whitecourt he fueled up 38 litres, I fueled up back in town so another 10 km ish farther and took 27 litres......... he definitely is not happy with it. Is something maybe wrong with it or is it possibly still in break in mode.

So you are saying 75miles total riding and used near a full tank while trail riding? Yeah there is an issue. I could see 75miles in bottomless WOT pow riding using a full tank.

Take it to the dealer to have an injector performance test done. They can also let him know if infact its through break in, or how much is remaining. I would think that it would be leaving large black marks everywhere in the snow with that fuel economy.

Even in break in mode it should get better fuel economy than any other brands for the same type of riding. Something is not right.

It seems to run pretty good, I took it for a spin and it definitely feels like its all there. The riding was half trail and some untouched powerlines and pipelines. About two feet of fresh snow on top of a very good base. I rode right beside him the whole first half of the day working my sled just as hard as him and on the way home he took it real easy staying on the hard packed trail and I rode the fresh untouched stuff on the edges of the pipeline. It doesn't seem to flood at all and seemed to start better than mine did all day. As for break in mode, it has gone on two trips to valemount and has ridden a few times around here so it should be out of it. I had heard break in mode is 300 km or 10hrs and hes got just over 770 km and 20+ hrs on it

As for that not even close. Its first few rides it burnt double or more the amount of fuel I did and double the amount of oil I used as well. At the end of its first trip to valemount he had 95 miles and burnt 83 litres of fuel and almost 6 litres of oil. I had 96 miles in those two days and burnt 41 litres of fuel with less than 3 litres of oil burnt........... its just real weird, it gets worse mileage than my other buddies ptek.

Isn't there a hose coming from the ECM to read the atmospheric pressure, if it gets pinched the fuel milage goes for a shat.
