I have a 660 and had a diff issue as well. I pulled it out myself and took it apart as it was off warrenty. There is a sliding fork that is moved by the servo motor. it was bent and not fully disengaging the diff or fully locking it up. I took the diff to Yamaha dealer in Red Deer and they fixed...

Like I was telling you Rider. use the pre filter bag deal and you whould be good to go. They also come pre oiled from the factory for the first use. It doesnt look like it but it says on the bag after closer inspection. When are we putting this stuff on the big red.

I priced out a complete new left rear shaft and that was worth 15.38 bottles of rum. Now I thought to myself, I have a file and a new clip and lots of time on my hands. I cleaned it up as best that I could and put on the new clip. installed into diff and I cant pull it out like I could before...
