Yes it's been going up like crazy. I was into it way before 10000 so I'm pretty stoked right now. It could pull a peter Schiff and go to zero, but I think it could go into the 100s of thousands.
So I'm holding at this point.

Just hit 56500 cad

So when is your retirement party ?

I remember the thread on here back when Bitcoin was under $500, and thought that was a stupid price. Lol

Yeah a lot of people cant see the value. I can, the value is in the technology(blockchain)and network(most powerful network In the world in terms of computing power) and the apps are cool too.

Bitpay works better than my banks BS apps that goes down several times a year.

Mining is a good place to get into crypto, just to figure out how to all works.

That's how I started in bitcoin, buying GPU's and mining alt coins and buying bitcoin with my alt coins.

Any who I think its price will be a lot higher than now in a few years. But I'm not telling anyone to buy, in fact I say dont buy it if you dont understand it.

Like Buffet says invest in stuff you understand. And crypto is kinda complicated.(and it is most definitely a high risk investment)

The reality is it's value is tied to the cost of electricity used to "mine" it, and now with the advent of ASIC's if you want to mine profitably it's best to use one of those, which has no use other than to consume a pile of electricity to make a small amount of bitcoin. At least when GPU's where more profitable you had a sweet computer to do other things with. Bitcoin was definitely a thing with college/university students, use the free electricity in their dorm rooms on the powerful computers their parents bought to mine Bitcoin for beer money.

I've looked at it a couple times, I just couldn't get the math to pencil out paying for a competitive ASIC and electricity to justify buying one. With today's bitcoin prices it's definitely profitable, but for how long? The hashrate is clearly going to increase as profitably goes up, and the difficulty will go up, when are the next generation miners coming, and will they obsolete those of today? What does the price look like in 1,2,or 5 years? Too many questions I can't answer well enough for me to venture into it. Good on you if you're making a profit from it though.

It's just a good learning experience. Probably better off buying the coins most times unless you are going large scale.
I dont mine any more, but glad I did because I learned a lot about crypto currencies.

I've been in it for the long haul.... 2016/17 I'm way up now, not nearly as much as those who got in last year at a penny but enough to make it a worthy investment, even for a 5 year hold.

I did not go ahead with my sell order today but we'll see what happens, typically when the market opens the week like it did today, the rest of the week takes back.

Same thing as ur stupid penny stocks. Bitcoin has a multi billion dollar computer network at least.lmfao

Butthurt? lol. I asked for its valuation other than speculation,.. if you read description its value is no more than a barter transaction. I am invested in Health tech, not air. As long as we're both making money all is good, good luck to you. If we are comparing stocks, this is what I made today with 1 penny stock +$28,427.62

No not buthurt. I already told you. The multi billion dollar established network (kinda like visa's only better) , and the block chain technology. Im not going into a novel here or going to repeat myself 50 times either. If you dont see the value, oh well I do.

Good luck to you as well , penny stocks treating you well right on, But I like them as much as you like bitcoin... lol
