Buddy of mine has one of these, never seen one before or know anybody else that has one. Really like it and the fact you can put it in sleeper mode for 5 bucks a month when not using it unlike spot . Also uses your smart phone too communicate , just send a text or message . I see norona recommends them

I got one, works good. Anytime you text or email it sends your location. It doesn't do tracking though.

Ive been following that very close. Been watching noronas vids on it, and as far as I can tell. This one has a dedicated number assigned to you, unlike the inreach????

Im hoping he can chime in and give a comparison of all the ones hes had.
I dont think hes tried a spot, but this new communicator has my interest.

Pretty sure if I text through my inreach it has its own number,.. if I use the earthmate app and text through my phone its my cell number,.. but I can check. I'm gonna stick with my inreach because I can use my phone OR the inreach to text/communicate.

I thought the inreaches had their own number.
Anyone can text me on mine through its number.
Then for inreach to inreach messages you have to use the email.

Does that exact same number show up everytime? Or do you have to tell that person who is texting??

dont know anything about the zoleo but the inreach is awesome.

Text from phone or inreach ( inreach must text to phone first only downside)

Text inreach to inreach via Inreach email address

Tracking

Each text sends coordinate location aswell, The online app is good too your spouse can go on and see where your at etc. ( just make sure you leave it at home when going to the girlfriends )

Gotta say, no complaints with the inreach, works every time.

This one sends location with texts, the only differences so far is the ZOLEO plan is cheaper and the ZOLEO is smaller and lighter than I reach. No keypad on ZOLEO , just sos button. Also like the 5 bucks a month when your not using it, can you reduce your plan on I reach when your not using it

You can also suspend your inreach plan, I think its about $3.95mth. I'm on one of the older plans before garmin bought out Delorme,.. I won't switch I'm attached to my inreach
