Accept the consequences of your beliefs.
If you're pro pipeline, that's fine. But acknowledge that it means exploiting land and people for more profit.
If you're anti pipeline, that's fine. But acknowledge that it means less money for other services.
The universe has consequences.
Your beliefs have consequences.
Choices often have unexpected and unwanted reactions.
Rather than debating about what you want.
Tell me what you are willing to sacrifice for the things you want.
Dont shut down exports and expect the same abundance for government services.
Dont expand industry and expect no one is being exploited.
You are allowed to want MORE.
But there are trade offs to having MORE.
Let's talk about what we are willing to trade in for MORE.
True character is revealed in what we sacrifice.
When we open up about this we become a little less righteous and a little more messy.
Humans are messy.
Let me begin.
I'm an educator, a social worker, and an artist.
I'm a sensitive little boy.
The idea of people getting hurt so we can build a pipeline creeps me out a bit.
I'm okay with a pipeline getting stopped by protestors. But then I also have to be okay with my industry being effected by that. If I want to protest against an industry I cannot be surprised when the consequences of less profit start effecting my profit and my services as well.
There is no free ride out here on earth.
Our clean beliefs have messy consequences.
And that's okay.
But lets try to own our mess.
Owning our righteous belief is easy.
Owning our mess is scary.
Good luck folks ❤
