Has Elkford been getting roughly half of the snow that Fernie has for the whole week? Curious about Elkford conditions as we will be headed that way this weekend for the Betties Ride.

Thanks Ferniesnow for the information.

You guys are good. Fernie Alpine Resort, Kimberly Alpine Resort, and Elkford Alpine Resort.

EAR is located at the south end of town at 4360'. The snow in Elkford is good. There are areas better and worse than others. As an example, Smith Basin had about 12" or 30 cms yesterday, Mear Lake had about the same but above Mear Lake there was a good 60 cm or 24". We have had two epic days of riding with over the bar snow (some wouldn't agree but that is the way it goes!). We carved up quite a bit but there is lots remaining.

Just wanted to say thanks to Kim from Fernie Wilderness Adventures. He stopped by the staging area this morning warning all the riders that they have been seeing stuff slide that he has never seen move before, and that the avi risk was just bumped up...

After he left I over heard a group changing their plans because of the info he gave them. I would like to think that they would have played it safe anyways but am thankful for the heads up and that their truck was gone when we got back...

Thanks to everyone that takes the time to point out what you know, see or hear, we are all helping keep one and other safe by doing this.

Thanks FWA for taking the time to fill everyone in as you were heading up to look over what was going on first hand.

Please Play Safe.

Last 24 hours:

FAR 21 cm (mid-mountain snow plot)
35 cm (Griz cam)
KAR 15 cm
EAR 24 cm

My driveway was a mess when I got home from sledding yesterday. 20 cm fell through the day and another 4 cm this morning. Avi danger is creeping up there due to the weak base and the heavy loading. Everyone ride safe and make some "Throttle Decisions".......:d
