Was winterizing lawnmowers and saw this on bottom of carb. Is something to do with water in gas?

I'd did not shoot this little guy and I did not run him over with SXS either.
There are no skunk tracks in the area and he does not stink - much.
Found him dead Sunday morning when out hunting.

How did he die out in the field??????????

I am with the bird of prey theory.
Was thinking an owl at this time of year grabbed him and as the skunk expired he gave a squirt.
The owel realized hey this is not a rabbit and dropped it.
Was no struggle or disturbed snow so likely already dead when it hit the ground.
There was a second divot in the snow about a foot from the skunk so I think he bounced once when he hit the ground.
