Funny thing is, we always set our gear in front of the heater to dry. The only difference this time was the heater had a fan. It was laying on its side with the bottom facing the heat. All the EPS inside melted.

Impressive to find a hotel room with a quality heater.

I melted the souls right off my boots one trip. They headed up so much the rubber all expanded and glue released. I held it in place as it cooled and it all stuck back in place. Still use the boots 3 years later.

Left a helmet to dry once with the hair dryer on, came back to room after supper and some foam melted.
Good thing it was only a carbon fiber helmet.
Ouch. That happened last trip to vale. Apparently I wasn't going riding Sunday either way.
