I may be getting a newer truck this year and was wondering what everyone thought of or have experience with these 2 trucks, especially the new GM 6.6L gas. I already have a dodge diesel pickup so I'm not really looking for another one, unless I can get a screaming deal I may consider it.

Cant stand the mirrors on the new GMs, why they decided to mount them on the door instead of the the a-pillar is beyond me. Its like they were annoyed with Dodge having the ugliest mirrors for so many years. New Chev headlights are also the worst abomination I have ever seen, GMC headlights look good though.

I am a Dodge person myself, and the interior in the new Dodges are in a league of their own.

Just went from a lmm duramax 2500 Back down to a 1500. Had 445xxxkm on it. Went with the 6.2l and 10speed, 420hp and 460 torque. I was really sceptical going back to a gasser after having a diesel for so long. But it has me impressed. Better on fuel then my diesel (and premium gas has been cheaper) Has lots of power to pull my 26' bumper pull(7000lbs)

Not sure about the new 6.6l. But Less power(401hp)and only 4 lbs of torque more(464). I wouldn't shy away from the gassers. Super happy with mine. Would be good to hear from anyone that's driven the 6.2 and 6.6

Would that not void warranty? I'll keep it in mind for when it's off.

I had a 2014 ram 2500 Longhorn with the 6.4 hemi. Had it to 210K. it was a really good truck, pretty good on fuel empty, but towing was pretty hard. Towing my 11k tow hauler would average 31l/100km at 100km/hr. Would just hold 4 gear at 2800 rpm. This was with the 3.73 gear ratio.

The newer (2013+) Ram interiors are way ahead of any other truck. Go for the longhorn or the limited as you get real nappa leather over pleather in the laramie. Good luck.

Had a 18 GMC 3500HD 6.6L . for last couple years , got descent mileage empty - avg 9.8L / 100k - pulling 4 place 22L/100k , just traded up to a 19 2500 GMC so not really sure but Id think it will be very similar mileage ! Buddy has a 2014 GM 2500 with a 6.0L gas , his mileage is terrible , trans always shifting up and down when pulling ! Havent had any experience with Dodges

Thanks, I'm not looking to go back to a 1500, 2500 minimum and you cant get the 6.2 other than 1500. Gonna go look this week to see what's around and get an idea on costs.

I know the dodge interiors have come a long way but has the rest of the chassis lol.

Dodge has a boxed frame, rides nice... Whats wrong with the Chassis in your opinion?

I know you didnt mention a Ford, but if you're test driving things should maybe give the new 7.3 gas a go. Been watching some reviews and seems to be getting some.good ratings
