the polaris 500 is a great family acrege machine. can do pretty much any thing. its has lots of torque for pulling, and not to much power that it will rip kids arms off if they ride it

Bought a hold-over 08 Outlander 400 EFI for the ol' Lady last week for $6750.00. A bit over the 5k budget, but brand new and 36months warrantee. The Outty 400 has more power than most other 500-class machines.....

I agree I have a Honda 500 and put a tow rope to both balls and the Polaris 500 is dead in the water, while the honda is spinning and bouncing. My opinion Polaris quads are high maintainance. They are smoother riding than honda, honda is a rough riding B!tch but it wont let you down. I have had 5 of them over the years. The problem is the used [quads] ones are priced out to lunch. I would probably go new or be VERY careful what your buying..

lookin to trade a 4x4 quad for snowmobile - Edmonton ATVs & Snowmobiles For Sale - Kijiji Edmonton

Lots of them out there, I bought my 2000 foreman 400 in 2003 for $4000, I have run that thing through hell and back and now I'm on round 2. The thing is bulletproof. If it were me I would avoid automatic (more to go wrong) but I see no reason why my 2000 should not have another 10-15 years left in her...even under my control.

Good Luck

I had a Honda 450 Foreman, very reliable and went through a lot of things that bigger quads get stuck in. The only problem, was that all my friends bought big bore quads and I was always the slowest on the back roads.
I was looking for a new quad, but now I think I am looking more for a 500 class machine. What is the Outlander 400 like for top speed power etc., I have no experience with the Bombi brand quads, any input would be appreciated.

with me riding a polaris i dont consider them high maintnence at all when they are stock, but yes when you start to put lift kits on you deal with cv's and when you put bigger tires on you have to do something with the clutches depending on the machine. but this goes with all makes of machines

I would suggest honda i bought my 2002 350 forman 2 years ago for $4500 and it has never let me down. my buddy has a 2006 forman 500 and mine goes eveywhere his goes and even more somtimes because its a little lighter and mine also turns a little sharper. either way i don't think you can go wrong with a honda.

Not sure if you've found anything yet...AND not 100% sure if the add is legit, but if it is...hear is the deal of the year (sorry catmandoo)...I didn't even have the cash to pick up catman's sled....but If I was looking this is what I'd be lookin at. $4900 each sounds almost too good to be true for a 2006 but you never know.

I love my Polaris Quad,Its been a great ride, its only a 500 but up keep up to all the 7&800,In 2 wheel drive its a blast in the pit and on fast trails, can handle big air, catwalks fine, but throw the switch and you can crawl along with the best of them,no low range but I dont think Id ever use it,To slow for me,the only other machine I would ride would be a Renegade 800.Im not into huntin or packing abunch of stuff so no racks for this guy.
