Our grooming has come to an end for the season although the riding certainly has not.

We still have decent access to our main riding areas and we will continue to provide access updates as we can get the information.

If you are out riding, please email us here at VARDA and let us know what you experienced, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to Cuso and others for posting the access conditions.

Spring can be an interesting time. Typically, conditions are sun baked and/or slushy although often throughout the month of April we can receive some great snow. The catch, is that it is very difficult to predict and you just need to get out and take your chances. Looks like it has been puking up there all day.

From all of the great people at VARDA and the community of Valemount, we would like to offer our sincerest appreciation to our visitors and supporters that helped make the 2015/16 season a positive one.

Thank you for choosing to ‪#‎ridevalemount‬

Anyone gonna be riding on Friday that doesn't mind a tag along? The rest of my crew has to work Friday. Trying to get one more day in if I can

I just drove to Allan lot to give you guys an update. Looks like riding from the parking lot is still ok! I did not have time to check Clemina

WOW....HOT HOT HOT

Spring certainly has set in. The recent rain events dropped about 15cm of snow in the alpine although the sun has killed it. Riding is good in the mid to late afternoons once the surface slushes up.

Great time to get exploring although, please respect the sun at the hot temps. Air temps reached 16 degrees in the alpine today with countless solar sluffs to sz2.

Access is quickly deteriorating. Clemina will likely be the best access for those looking for an easy accessible ride although if you dont mind a little mud and rock you can still get just about anywhere.

Thanks to the great peeps sending in the reports. Here is some first hand info from yesterday.

Clemina - snow comes all the way down to about km 3, just below the gravel pit on the trail. Truck & deck or truck and small trailer can park at the snow line where the old trail takes off to the left of the road trail (going up). There is room at this spot for maybe 6 - 8 trucks with decks to park. The trail ride down today had spotty gravel showing from about km 7 to 4 with a bit more showing around the gravel pit but is passable easily. The side hill facing the sun below km 3 (swampy area below drop off) is all gravel for about 500 to 700 meters.

Thanks to Lloyd for sending this.

Allen - Access was surprisingly good with great coverage right from behind the toll shack with very minimal open areas.

Thanks to Maxwell for sending this.

Ride safe everyone.

Rode Clemina today. Parked at the gravel pit around 4km. Very little gravel on the way up but don't be in a rush to head up the hill and let the sun soften up the snow first. The snow is getting a little thin on the top of the mountain peaks but had no problems. Good day for mid april
