This has happened to me 2 times now. Sled running fine, going down a trail, sled's been running for 15 minutes or so, so plenty warmed up, maybe 6000 rpms at 40mph and it dies like I turned it off. Not flashing any codes.
Try to restart and nothing. Check and replace plugs. Nothing...
I've got 4,000 miles on my 09 m1000. Just had the top end rebuilt as a precautionary thing.
Wondering what other maintenance I need to do to be ready for the season? I heard clutch springs should be replaced every year - true? Anything else I should get after?
Thanks for any help.
I was having some bogging on my 09 m1000 and after lots of tuning w/ PCV and Auto Tuner, decided it was probably an air intake issue - my BDX intake only took air from the front bottom of the sled, which was proned to getting blocked w/ snow in deep conditions. So I cut a couple of small holes...
Day 1 on St. Helens was 18" of fresh powder on an 8-foot base. Was instantly hooked on the Pro. Most comfortable and "right feeling" sled I've ever jumped on. Was throwing it around like a toy, trying jumps and riding in a way I normally wouldn't have the confidence to try. Power felt better...
Just realized I've got 4000 miles on my m1000. Still runs great, but is that getting into ticking time bomb territory? If not, when would you rebuild, or would you just ride it til it grenades?
Got my 2nd autotuner and it's not doing crazy stuff like the first one. So after 3 days of riding, here are my numbers. It's adding crazy amounts of fuel to my low rpms. The sled has a low end sputter that I'm really hoping to get rid of -right where the auto-tuner is adding all the fuel - but...
Does this look right? If so, Baker's getting 33-50+ inches over the next 3 days.

Thinking about heading up there Wed. instead of Whistler since it looks to be pretty epic.
Looking for some local advice - where's the best place to ride?
Hello everyone, we've had enough of this no-snow BS down here in Portland and are going to go hunt some snow down next week. Looks like Whistler area is only place w/in 15-hour drive that's getting more than a foot of snow in the next 7 days, so that's where we are heading.
Never been up there...
Hey everyone, we've had enough of this BS up here in Portland and are going to go find some ****ed snow. Looks like Whistler area is only place w/in 15-hour drive that's getting more than a foot of snow in the next 7 days, so that's where we are heading.
Never been up there, but heard there's a...
After 2 trips to the mountain w/ the PCV and Autotuner installed, and two trips into the shop to see why my sled was running worse than before it had the auto-tune installed, and one call into Power Commander to see if they could help figure it out, and it still running like crap, I'm taking the...
Some people say you should stop every 20 min or so to let your belt/engine cool down when you're really pushing them hard - hill climbing or pushing through deep powder.
Others say there's no need for that.
What do you guys do?
Getting the auto-tune for my 09 m1000's PCV - anyone running one of these? Did it make much of a difference?
Pretty stoked - sled didn't run bad, but now I'll be set with perfect mappng for any altitude.
I've got y-pipe, intake and a can on a 09 M1000, it's always had a low-end stumble since I bought it. Got worse last weekend when it was warm.
So, I'd already been at -1 at low throttle 5, 10, and 20% from 3500-4500 where the stumble is, but thinking about going to -3.
Anyone else have map...
Weird thing was I noticed the code when it started running like crap - felt super rich - so I stopped and shut her down, waited about 5 minutes and it ran fine the rest of the day - another 45 minutes.
Anyone had this - assuming a bit of build up on my exhaust valves? How hard is it to clean...
My m1000 leans over much easier than my xp600 did, and once it does, it carves pretty good, but it seems counter steering while leaned over actually tends to prevent a sharp carve and straighten me out vs helping to make it sharper.
On the xp, counter steer would give you a nice hard turn...
Just reading my owner's manual and note it recommends that I do not use a higher octane fuel than 87 in my 09 m1000.
I've got a y-pipe, can, bdx intake and a pcv w/ a custom tune coming - wondering if I should use a higher octane or not?
Any advice?
My new sled came w/ an aftermarket seat and the original stock seat. Looking to sell it.
Any thoughts on what it's worth?
Was the 09 a lighter seat than previous years? Anyone know if it fits older models, up to what year, and if it fits M8s?
Thanks!
Bought XP cover brand new last season for my 09XP, used twice before I realized you don't need a cover if you're hauling your sled in the back of a lifted truck. And I sold my sled and got an arctic cat that came w/ a cover (which I don't need either), so I realllly don't need this cover. It's...
Just got an 09 m1000 w/ a bdx intake, dd y pipe and utra q pipe
Guy I bought from said it runs great above 6000 feet, but he wouldn't run it w/ those mods below that w/out a box/ecu
We start our rides at 4000, so I either need to go back to stock parts or get an ecu. Thinking ecu is way to...
