Global has crew here today and will be taken to the top by Adrenaline Tours, will let you all know how that goes. I was supposed to double one of them up but we need propane at the cabin to keep everyone warm so I will be pulling a bottle up in the AM.

Just wanted to drop a line and let you all know that we in the US are following the story and donating like crazy! This story has been posted on a few horse bulletin boards and we will do anything we can to help!

Being that we are so far away- figured donations are the best way.

Best wishes, happy holidays... and a huge thank you to alllll that are part of the rescue effort!

Wow what an amazing show of how well people can pull together to make things turn out in a positive way! I am proud to see how much has been raised in the effort of the horse rescue, but I am even more moved by the one's out in the cold breaking there backs shoveling this trench...they are the true hero's in this! If there is money left over from the donations these guys and gals deserve a hot diner and a cold drink! There is no better place to ride a sled, and find the true meaning of community!:d

I know you are all very busy with the rescue effort...but... does anyone have pictures of the terrain you are dealing with up there? I am on the East Coast on the Atlantic. My entire state is as flat as a pancake (flapjack) and once every 5 yrs we get 2' of snow that shuts the state down for a week.

I can not fathom what ya'll are working with. I keep trying to imagine big mountain, deep snow but my mental picture is a bunny-hill at the Pocono Mtns in PA. LOL!

I'm another "horse person" who became aware of the situation in Renshaw from another BB and wanted to thank everyone who has helped in any way to save these 2 horses from a horrible fate. Y'all are real heros. Thank you!

Hey there-check out some photos on Sara Olofsons profile

Also, to get an idea of this area, google McBride, British Columbia and check out the town's website as well as the Robson Valley. You'll get an idea of where we are, the terrain and just how rural our little piece of the world is. It's great that there is so much interest down there in the states regarding this story and I can tell you from how often my phone rings that people across Canada are caught up in this story too!:)

So, it's bitterly cold here yet again-around -31 here at the house. Hoping the sleds will start today-glad that we made the decision to stay back and hopefully see the end of this today. So happy that there were so many people helping out there yesterday-a shame that some have to work today, heard from Dean that some were like digging machines just shovelling relentlessly-oh, to be young again....sigh....oh well...
There will be a CBC crew coming up today-they were hoping to get aerial shots, but not sure if that's going to happen. They were on the road pretty early this morning from Edmonton and sound stoked to be coming.....thanks to everyone still for your support with this and hope to see you on the hill!

Noticed in todays Journal online the distance the trail that needs to be made has grown over a kilometer?

hi-this is one of those times again when accurate information is important-the trail needed to be dug has only ever been around 1 km long-there is about 200meters left to be dug today-this is doable! also, the path being dug is a little more shallow than what was being dug originally-maybe 4-5 feet deep now instead of 6+plus.

Just wanted to be another one to say Thank You to McBride for all the effort. Many of us in the US are following along by reading this forum. I belong to a board that was started for updates on the great racehorse Barbaro when he was still here..... the board has morphed into horse advocacy of all types now. There is a thread on the board devoted to updates about your horses. Thoughts and prayers are with you guys - hope you can feel the support, because it certainly is there.
