I sent atlas lifts an email about what kind of group discount they could offer. Look like really good lifts and they have a warehouse in calgary

In my last shop i got a concrete saw and cut two holes in the existing floor, dug down with a shovel, and filled the holes with concrete i hand mixed in a wheelbarrow. It really wasn't a big deal to do.

So been doing quite a bit of research and shipping on these things is insane, so have kind of been concentrating on companies that have warehouses in Alberta. Top contenders are Atlas and Advantage. Atlas has warehouse in Calgary, and advantage is out of Cochrane.
Atlas is a bit cheaper, has more options, and offered an 8% group buy discount (but will give 5% without the group so not a ton of savings as a group). Wont have much stock until april though.
Advantage looks like a much better lift, but are a little more money. They are already on sale so guy said he could do an extra $100 off a lift and throw in the hydraulic fluid. Lifts in stock
So a 9000lbs lift from Atlas would be $4052 per lift tax-in. Similar 9000lbs Advantage would be $4700. Atlas available in april, Advantage in stock now.
Advantage looks like a better designed and built unit. They also sell an 11000lbs unit for $5856 tax-in that will lift a dually.
Bendpac looks like they are exclusively through Babco, which would be shipped from the coast i believe.
Not as much of a group discount as I had hoped for so not sure its worth the trouble.

Just got off the phone with him. Nice guy. Says its probably from the 70's or 80's so definitely an older unit. Hes gonna send me some actual pictures of it.

Long as everything works and not bent up , the older ones are built probably better then the new ones .

I’d be taking a good look at those hoists for $4-5k. I paid $5k for my 9000lb Mohawk back in 2004. I’d be asking about seeing the certification on the steel etc. And if they meet the industry standards. Where are they manufactured?

Well crap......just about have this thing together and something doesn't seem right about the way the cross members mount into the posts. Got the manual and the posts have to be anchored into the concrete. Frick.....this was the reason I went with a four post, so I wouldn't have to do that.
So now sell it or try to rig up a steel plate under the posts to anchor to. Probably be fine but not sure I should mess around with something that could be life and death
