from cataract to blairmore isnt really much riding except for racehorse and deadmans pass not much riding in there until you cross into bc then it is sick but the south half of blairmore is great

Thats what i thought but was told different by someone and was told you can easily get from Catarac to blairmore no problem. Ive driven that road and its a LONG way down there... I would rather drive around and hit a better area
Thanks for the info

No kidding. I hiked over the pass and it's a LONG ways over. I've also ridden to Fording pass in the winter on the sleds and it isn't all that spectacular because even with a lot of snow, there are still a lot of rocks.

I prefer the lack of people in the Crowsnest/Fernie, but the sledding at Golden can be better. If you know where to go Fernie/Crowsnest has some decent areas that see less use though.

ya i dont recommend riding from cataract to blairmore it isnt very good!! But ya golden can better forsure the pass is usually a little less crowded than golden. If you know some areas around fernie and the pass there is a ton of untouched areas back there that most dont venture to! a prime example and I'm giving up a secret here is by castle ski hill just at the top of koot pass on the left hand side has some old burn sites that whole area basicly gets no to little use and if u look up a bit higher on the bc side u will see a chute through some trees up a waterfall it goes to rainy ridge lakes I have never ever seen any other tracks up that chute but we go up there at the end of the year and it is some wicked riding!!! same with an area just before akamina kishinea park wicked wicked wide open hillclimbs to some amazing ridge top views

I have been up that water fall,, small area up there but its deep,,, that first lil lake has some big slide activity so most go up late in the season but as the water flows that run down gets a bit hairy when the rocks start to show,, I did a half front flip (is that such a thing bahaha well I flipped sled not sure) one time coming down trying to air over a few rocks I went to big hit a knoll and whent strait up in the air lol,, lucky sled didnt land on me and the snow was soft,, helmet flew off pretty funny after I stopped rolling and confirmed sled was all good...

fun pull up the first time because its blind...just hope your buddies dont trench the chit out of it,,,,I also like that whole left side when its deep...

cant wait,,,

yeah real deeeeep love it but definately high avalanche area that whole left side is wicked fun when it is deep but that blind pull up the falls is super sick I put it into rhubarb last year I was coming up and was about three quarters up was hitting the last little bend hit the nos button but hit some old avy debris i'm assuming or something else hard and got bucked hard into the trees hahahaha but well worth it

yea middle koots pass hooks up with flat head rd if i remember correctly?? This one is if your at west castle and you hit the bridge/river crossing in the first big clearing, everyone goes right. If you go left, it is a maze back in there but basically stay on the main trail, lol or what you think is the main trail. There are 3 or 4 creek crossings? on the last one go left, it will look like a right hand turn, but there is a hiddien trail in behind, sorta overgrown for the first 100 ft.

yup this is correct u can even get to it from rainy ridge lakes but has a real nasty sidehill onto font mountain and I mean nasty sidehill. We always hit the flathead road and go left towards the us border you can go east or west at the bottom and get to a sweet old airstrip awesome for drag racing or you can continue on and get to waterton park or go west along the border and get to a place called couldrey ridge IMO it looks like a turtle mtn area in revy and no one goes there!!!

there is that way in and there is also a way in from beavermines lake I think it is grizzly creek that will take you back to waterton as well!! I must say the area by beavermines lake is awesome and rarely sees any traffic definately a must do if you are in that area. From beavermines lake you can see the bald mountain i was talking about towards the bc side of things it makes me wanna start maiking my own trail into there just to clib a couple of the mini chutes:d
