Hey guys. I am looking at a new XMR. So i was wondering; do the Silverbacks ride as badly and dig as deep as everyone says? Also, since it is a 2-up, will it water wheelie? Or will i need a clutch kit?
Thanks guys.

The silver backs aren't that bad, (they r a mud tire tho), if you ride lots of hard pack you might not like them but then I would suggest not buying that machine. I think to get that beast to wheelie would require some heavy mods. Its a sweet bike for sure, just buy it and mod it, lol.

They water wheelie like nothing! In fact it's hard to keep the front end down in deep water. They are also not a bad ride either. A lot smoother then I thought it would be

Ok, sweet thanks.
And what if i just got a regular Outlander 800 and thru some 'laws and a snorkel on it? Outlanders dont need a lift or anything to clear 29.5's do they?
Thanks.

If you do that then I don't think you get the air control suspension and the on board air compressor, and the rad relocate. Your better off to just get the xmr and then it's all factory and no messing around with ordering parts and installing.

you will have to space the tires out to clear the wheel wells, The XMR is already got the big wheel kit in it I believe. Or you could take run of the mill 800 and build it up and nosuspects what you have until it is too late.

Ok, i found a sick Outy for 12000. It has a 3" lift though. I was on one of Ostacruiser's videos and he says that nobody runs a lift over 2"...why not?
Thanks.

that 2009 does not have a 3" lift like advertised, i just looked at ad, i would bet it has a pipe lift, maybe a HL bracket lift on front for the 31's

Here is my old 2010 outty xt800 with mods. I ran 30" silverbacks with no lift. But springs were all the way up. And I loved the silverbacks

Miss this quad :(

I bought the xmr; the tires are great; maybe its people that are bashing them that are afraid of change, majority of people run laws. Not saying i'm against it but there are alternatives, and the silverbacks in my opinion are a nice set of tires.

they are a decent tire, just hard on axles if your trigger happy , only flaw i find to them is their weight
