I bought a Kubota RTV 500 from a guy that used it on site in the oil and possibly mining industry.
This grey box is velcroed on the dash and connects to a black box velcroed under the dash. There are no markings or numbers on either. The green light is always on, whether the machine is running or not. I wondered if it something required for site work.
Any ideas?

Are the boxes connected to anything else or just each other?

I winder if it's a lockout device of some sort that's been disabled. ...like we see on forklifts where everyone gets a key that uniquely identifies them in the even of a collision.

Could be a proximity sensor system. Workers on site have an RFID tag on their hard hat, operator gets an alert if he gets within a certain range.
