I am trying to find somewhere that ideally has a large hole cut in the ice or a place I could cut one safely that a couple friends can do a polar plunge thing with for a birthday. Apparently it is really important to them and it has to be on monday.

Can anyone help a guy out that is trying to impress a girl?

Any running water anywhere still maybe not requiring a hole?

If you are taking Justin Rachael some rope and rocks along I'll gladly cut the hole.

The outflow waters from the little dam at Buck Lake (north side) are open. Not more than knee deep from what I saw - had to cross 8’ wide creek down stream. Easy foot access

It’s a lot harder than you would think to cut a 4x4 hole in the ice.

Few things to consider.
We push the piece of ice underneath. Then pull it back into the hole when we are finished.

Flag it all off. Don’t want someone randomly falling in.

Also who jumps in don’t let them go under the ice on the sides. It’s difficult to find the opening again to get out.

Good luck.

Excellent advise here. Have fun but be careful. If it’s deeper than 4 feet or so tie the jumper off with a rope. Really easy to get disoriented under the ice.
