Klondyke Ferry closes for season near Fort Assiniboine

Fort Assiniboine... Motorists are advised that the Klondyke (Vega) Ferry will be closing for the winter season near Fort Assiniboine.

The ferry will cease operating on Nov. 18 until it re-opens in early to mid-May 2009, weather permitting. The ferry carries Highway 661 motorists across the Athabasca River east of Fort Assiniboine. Motorists are advised to use Highways 33 and 769 as alternate routes during the closure.
