Sponsor a Family

Does anyone have a particular organization they contribute to or use for sponsoring families and children in need during the holiday season?

I want to know my money is going to someone who needs it.

I have a couple of good friends that are part of the Magic of Christmas here in Cowtown. They help a lot a Christmas time. They are bikers and some a have a stigma attached to that, but these guys are good peeps and put a lot of time and effort into helping out the less fortunate. I had seen that one. I think we are going to try and do two, a family hamper program and a monetary donation program.

We usually reach out to a family through the local women's shelter. They have a list of family's in need on hand.

every year we donate to a local family in need and they are not hard to find thru word of mouth. We used to donate to the food bank but cant even get a thank you for the donation so decided to go "direct" and this xmas will be 3 years in a row.

We usually help a family or someone around here, that way you know they are getting what you have given
