So I posted a couple weeks back about getting stood up and needing riding partners. I have seen a few similar posts since, and frankly see them a fair bit. What about setting up a sticky thread of people looking for riding partners? They can post dates, where, riding ability, how long, where they are staying, what the ride, etc

Re: Riding Partners

Im in the same situation most of my regular riding partners work odd shifts and we miss out on trips. Secondly my wife dosen't like the idea of me going alone. I was thinking of going to Valemount/McBride 12-14 March. I've been mountain riding for years i like to highmark on the safe hills, and mostly boondock through the trees and find that deep powder. I mostly ride Climina and Allen.

Where: Edmonton
When: 12-14 Mar
Riding Ability: Riding since i was 12. Mountains for 5 years. Expreinced
Ride: 2008 summit xp 800
Age:37

Re: Riding Partners

Just a sugestion, might want to post your age as well. I know I'd prefer to know roughly how old someone is b efore I agree to take them out. There's usually a big difference in mind set from a 20 yr old ot a 50yr old.

Re: Riding Partners

Another idea may be to post that you ahve the basic at a minimum avalanche gear, and any training you may have.

I have probe, shovel and beacon and have taken the AST1 classroom and need to do the field portion yet.

As a plug for Zacs everyone should get the AST1

I'm looking to maybe do a day run on sunday to golden, to Hope or Gorman. I was already talking to a guy about going on the golden forums about going Sunday(if his sled checks out) if anyone wants to join?

Have all the gear, AST1, and a snowpulse pack, usually like to sled 70-80% of the day, and snowboard the other 20-30% if I can.

Been sledding for 5 years, backcountry snowboarding for 8, snowboading for 14.

and i'm 28

Overkill131313 has offered to show us around the Sicamous area.

My son and I will arrive Tuesday morning March 8th 10ish is the plan, hope to ride the rest of tuesday, wed, thurs and possibly a short morning ride Friday.

I'm 52 ride a 2007 M8, usually called Dale but have heard other names thrown my way. Have been riding sleds for years but only got into Mt sleds a couple of years ago. Have driven and raced most things with a motor.

My son born Ryan is 23 also riding a 2007 M8, he is a Pro Quad motocross racer, but the same experience re mt sledding, his first sled ride he would have been about 2 years old.

Both have completed AST 1, carry shovels, props, emergency stuff, use Barry vox beacons and BCA Avy backpack's.

.......Not into high marking, but we do like to ride.....

So if your looking for some company, we'd luv to tag along, or lets go exploring together....

Were booked into the Best Western

Just a thought, joining your local club and attending meetings is a great way to meet fellow riders with similar riding abilities and interests, time etc, just sayin,,,,
