howdy all - looking at a used 99 scramber, but previous owner dis-abled oil-injection and pre-mixed gas...... seems to run okay, but what should be looking at for signs of permanent damage, or is that okay for those engines? thanks to anybody for any help and cheers.

Nothing wrong with the premixed gas, just have to make sure there is oil in the counter balance at all times for the crank.remove dip stick and check if its dry stay away from this machine. Most people dont know this about the Polaris two strokes.

There is usually a mechanical pump some what attached to the crank either by a sprocket, gear case or direct ect and as the rpm goes up it spins the oi pump t odeliver the right amount of oil to create the ultimate oil to gas mixture. (But oil pumps like anything else fails). But if the oil pump has been bypassed and you are running off of premixed u should not have any problems at all. As long as your oil lines are plugged up and that you are running at a perfect mixture.
