Sunday, getting ready to leave Quartz after camping for the night for an event at the hill, a guy in my group noticed this fire re-ignite itself. I think it was a bad spot for a fire anyways, but they could have at least cleaned up their garbage and distributed the logs on the dirt and put snow on them. Another fire was also left smoldering that we put out as well. Please be careful, it's pretty dry all over and it's lucky we were there to put this out.

My buddy took his dogs for a run down south fork yesterday and also put out two abandoned fires. Fkn jackwagons will ruin it for everyone...

$375 fine in bc for unattended fire ...

I messaged the organizer of the event letting him know about it, thinking he'd put a post on the FB group, nothing yet which is a little disappointing. Maybe I should post the pics up? I've never seen a fire re-ignite itself before, it was kinda crazy. Maybe it would be a good thing to just spread the information. Not really sure if I should just leave it alone or not...

Wonder if he would have gotten the ticket if authorities happened upon the fire. We were chatting about it and know that if we had left without seeing it, being the last ones there the fingers would have been pointed at us even though we were camped on the other side of the lot.

Do you think they will put out their fire properly when they can not even pickup their own garbage.
They just have not yet met the right people that will get in their face about **** like that.
You should had takin pictures of the garbage also and post all of it on FB, with location and dates.

I was at Eagles on a Saturday this year and i parked in a garbage dump. Got out of the truck at the parking area and there were tims cups and sandwich wrappers every where on the ground. No truck or anyone there. I really wish those SOB's would had been there that morning, they would have had a rude start to there day.

When I was just a kid my dad would ceremoniously go thru the routine of putting out a camp fire with us. If no water was to be had then nobody left until we grunted enough piss out of our little peckers to get it out.

As teenagers we feared the conservation guys. We called them Rangers. There was enough of them on payroll back then to make you think twice about fawkin around in the bush.
