I have been tossing around the idea of throwing a 2" lug track on my sled. I'ts an F6 ext 144" 1.25" lug. Tunnel clearence is a non issue. I ride Trails and Mountains... most of the time the trails & cutlines I ride are deep and loose. I mostly boondock when I go to the mountains.
If any of you have gone to a 2" from a 1.5" or less on a similar sled (power / track length) please give me your imput / advice from your experience. I don't want to loose too much traction on hard packed trails with a 2" especially accelerating out of corners.
I know that the extra weight of the track and the additional effort to spin it will slow me down a bit but I will sacrifice that for better performance in the deep stuff. Clutching will solve this problem anyhow.
FYI, the Firecats have a 13.5" wide flipper, easier to spin due to less weight, but less floatation. Any input is welcome
Thanks.
