Shortened the stock 12". Got it down to 8 lbs. Don't like the high rise seats. This is way easier to hop from one side to the other. The only time I use my seat during the day is to eat lunch.

How/where did you cut your seat? I've been thinking of cutting mine since last year after I rode with a 2010 seat (and hated every minute of it. Just too tall and in the way) just couldn't think of a way to do it. I like the room you get with the smaller seat. Looks like you did a nice job!

You need to strip your seat apart. Then cut the plastic. You overlap the front and the back and rivet them together. Basically removing the whole tip up part of the seat. Then you cut your foam. Combining the back and the front. Cut your foam at 45 degree angle so you have more surface area to glue it together. I let the upholstery shop glue the foam and resow the cover. Cost around $60. I reused my stock cover so no extra material needed. Moved the stock seat clips for locking forward and done. you couldn't ask for a better seat. Within 3 lbs of a boss seat.

I don't think they make a 15" yet. There easy to cut, just find a buddy with a tablesaw and run your $1300 track through it. No big deal.

My 07 CF 800. Air intake, SW Y Pipe, Can, 2010 heat shields added, Mod skis, thats about it for this year. Plan on a new 144 extension next year and a flat black paint job, temp gauge, clutch work.
