Any info on fire bans for AB and BC? Long weekend coming hope to spend a week at McBride and without a fire its not camping IMHO.

Thanks

Campfire bans kick in at Noon today in the southeast fire centre in BC.

Fines if caught are $345.00

Yup, that covers from West - Kootenay Arrow Lk area to the US border in the south, to the Alberta border in the East and to Mica Dam (above Revy) in the North. McBride's in a dif. area. but could still have a ban. These bans cover the rural areas. Municipalities can also have their own bans on.

Most of our province is HOT and tinder dry right now.Fire bans are a good thing as I am from Kelowna and we have allready had a few major forest fires the past couple of weeks.I would suggest getting a portable propane camp fire not the same as a real one but better than standing around the BBQ:d
