Nice rink Geoff. A lot of hours building and playing!

If they didn't use it I'd probably be a bit grumpy about it, but they've been on it 72 days this year!

It's a bit of a disease though...no different than having attachments for a compact tractor...I've built a flooding tool, net movers for the kids, added more lights this year and now found/bought a edger to plane high spots on the ice. In a very weird way, making good ice is a bit addicting. Would like to make the rink a bit longer next year but it's a bit of a balancing act - longer it goes, the slope of the yard plays against me. As it sits, one end has 3.5in of ice while the other has 17in.

Right up your alley and all. Solving an engineering challenge is somewhat second nature isn't it?

Yrs ago I picked up a fridge cardboard box etc. cut some windows/doors and let the kids paint. How about show you child how to maintain a sled/quad/car etc. heck do an oil change. hide something and give clues aka treasure hunt. Show them how to cook. play a piano/guitar etc. and teach. get outside and play. show kids how to wreck things that are going to the dump. heck i tossed an old washer and could have let the kids beat it with a hammer etc. Enjoy the day.:p

When I was 10 my dad brought home a old bailer from a auction. My brother and I spent all summer taking it apart and sorting the bolts for his bolt bin. Learn a lot doing projects like this and problem solving.

Picture 2 - what is the bike against garage door?? Looks cool
Its a bike I built so we can go hiking with my daughter. She has some health struggles and her hips are in rough shape. So I bought a fat bike for parts and came up with this. Pushes super easy and rides really smooth for her. Climbs over roots and rocks like there not even there.
